TL;DR
Trade Supervision and Oversight Manager (Fintech): Supervising multi-asset trading activities and strengthening regulatory controls, surveillance, and execution-venue oversight with an accent on CIRO and CSA compliance, market structure, and data-driven monitoring. Focus on investigating trading risks, improving surveillance automation and reporting, evaluating execution quality, and managing vendor and marketplace controls.

Location: Toronto office, Canada; current Canadian work authorization required. Flexible hybrid working arrangement, with remote, hybrid, and in-office options available.

Annual total cash compensation, including base salary and target bonus: CAD 133,000–158,000.

What you will do

  • Supervise daily trading activity across equities, fixed income, FX, equity options, and securities lending.
  • Monitor trading conduct, best execution, marketplace compliance, and potential manipulative or deceptive practices.
  • Investigate and escalate regulatory breaches, conduct supervisory reviews, and maintain written supervisory procedures.
  • Improve trade surveillance through automation, analytics, dashboards, KPIs, alert calibration, and exception reporting.
  • Support execution-venue, broker, vendor, and marketplace relationship management, including execution-quality and transaction-cost reviews.
  • Prepare governance and risk reports and support regulatory examinations, audits, and compliance reviews.

Requirements

  • University degree or equivalent relevant work experience.
  • At least five years of experience as a trader or in compliance oversight.
  • Strong knowledge of CIRO Dealer Member Rules, UMIR, CSA requirements, and Canadian market structure.
  • Experience with trade surveillance tools, exception-based monitoring, risk indicators, and analytical investigations.
  • CSC, CPH, and TTC certifications.
  • Current authorization to work in Canada is required.

Nice to have

  • OLC or DFC certification.
  • CFA or CIM designation.
