Senior Engineer, Systems - Embedded Electronics (Medical Devices): Architecting and integrating complex embedded electronic systems for hearing health products with an accent on system requirements, analog and digital circuits, FPGA platforms, DSP, RF, and hardware debugging. Focus on feasibility analysis, formal verification, failure investigation, cross-functional integration, and transferring reliable Class III medical devices into manufacturing.

Location: Valencia, California, United States; hybrid schedule with 3 days onsite and 2 days remote, with remote functionality limited to the United States. A minimum internet speed of 200 Mb/sec download and 10 Mb/sec upload is required for remote or hybrid work.

Salary: $100,320–$150,480 per year, plus bonus eligibility.

What you will do

• Define system-level requirements, product specifications, architectures, and technical tradeoffs with Marketing, Project Management, and R&D groups.
• Conduct feasibility studies and model or implement proposed components, algorithms, and system solutions.
• Collaborate with electrical, RF, board, IC, firmware, software, and mechanical engineering teams throughout development and system integration.
• Perform functional testing, formal verification, reliability analysis, and failure investigations.
• Investigate product and field issues through experiments and root-cause analysis.
• Document technical work, share knowledge, and mentor junior engineers across the organization.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Electronics, or Biomedical Engineering; a Master’s degree or PhD is preferred.
• At least 3–5 years of experience with analog and digital circuits, FPGA platforms, embedded systems, DSP, RF, control systems, or integrated circuits.
• Experience designing complex electronic systems, embedded development on ASICs, Python-based test automation, datasheet interpretation, reliability and verification engineering, and Class III medical device standards including IEC 60801.
• Proficiency with C, C++, Python, LabVIEW, Altium 365, SPICE-based circuit simulation, and engineering modeling or debugging tools.
• Experience with FPGA tools such as Xilinx Vivado or Altera Quartus and embedded environments such as Arduino, MPLAB, Keil, or Eclipse.
• Strong analytical, communication, collaboration, leadership, mentoring, and deadline-management skills.

Nice to have

• 7+ years of experience and prior medical device industry experience.
• Familiarity with MATLAB, Python Embedded Tools, pSPICE, VHDL/Verilog, SystemC, Tableau, and related engineering software.
• Master’s degree or PhD in a relevant engineering discipline.
