Principal Software Developer (Forma Data, File+)

Location: Vancouver, BC, Canada

Base salary: CAD 131,000–191,400 per year, with potential additional bonuses, stock grants, and benefits.

What you will do

• Lead technical work across the full software development lifecycle.
• Shape the architecture and platform development of Forma Data Management cloud services.
• Implement and operate reliable cloud services using web technologies and engineering best practices.
• Design solutions for SaaS products integrating with hirify.global tools such as AutoCAD and Revit.
• Maintain high standards for code quality, organization, and automation.
• Mentor and coach developers while collaborating with global software teams and stakeholders.

Requirements

• 8+ years of software development experience, preferably with SaaS or cloud-based products.
• Strong design, coding, performance, maintainability, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.
• Proficiency in web-based technologies such as Java, Go, and GraphQL.
• Experience designing scalable, reliable, and secure cloud services with AWS or another cloud platform.
• Experience with DevOps, CI/CD, enterprise cloud operations, and distributed database technologies.
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

Nice to have

• Experience with big data analytics and event-driven frameworks.
• Familiarity with BPMN or RPA tools such as Camunda, Power Automate, or AWS Step Functions.
• Familiarity with Linux or CentOS.
