Staff Software Engineer (IAM/IGA)

Location: Toronto, Ontario, Canada

Salary: CAD 160,000–220,000 annually

What you will do

• Own feature areas end to end, from technical design and implementation through testing, deployment, and post-launch monitoring.
• Design and ship production-ready features for the enterprise access governance system, prioritizing correctness, reliability, performance, and security.
• Develop scalable services for access governance personas and enterprise customers.
• Investigate and resolve bugs and customer-reported issues.
• Collaborate with Product Development, QA, Site Reliability Engineering, product, and design teams.

Requirements

• 8+ years of software engineering experience and the ability to independently deliver complex production features.
• Experience architecting and delivering large-scale distributed systems for enterprise customers.
• Deep knowledge of microservices, event-driven architectures, APIs, and data modeling at scale.
• Strong proficiency in Java, Kotlin, Go, or an equivalent JVM/cloud-native language.
• Experience designing systems for multi-tenancy, high availability, audit logging, RBAC/ABAC, reliability, scalability, and security.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, including the ability to explain complex technical topics to technical and non-technical audiences.

Nice to have

• Experience building identity, access management, or access governance products.
• Familiarity with workflow engines, finite state machines, or approval and routing systems.
• Experience with enterprise SaaS platforms and cloud infrastructure such as AWS, GCP, or Azure.
• Experience with modern observability tooling.
• B.S. in Computer Science or equivalent education.
