What you will do

• Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll coordination, vendor payments, reconciliations, journal entries, and accruals across multiple entities and currencies.
• Own the month-end close process and maintain accurate, timely records in accounting systems.
• Design finance workflows, approval chains, internal controls, and documented processes.
• Lead the implementation and optimisation of ERP, accounting, and expense-management tools.
• Support reporting on actuals, burn, vendor spend, cost centres, contracts, and recurring expenses.
• Partner with finance, engineering, operations, procurement, supply chain, people, and product teams on data quality, spend governance, and financial planning.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in finance operations, accounting, or financial control.
• Strong technical knowledge of bookkeeping, payables and receivables, and financial close processes.
• Experience in early-stage or growth-stage product businesses, such as hardware, manufacturing, or deep tech.
• Experience designing processes and implementing finance systems from the ground up.
• Highly organised, detail-oriented, and committed to accurate, well-governed operations.
• Ability to collaborate across functions while maintaining operational independence.

Nice to have

• Experience with NetSuite, Xero, or other ERP and accounting platforms.
• Familiarity with UK, US, or Canadian VAT and R&D tax credits.
• Background in audit, compliance, or internal controls.
• Experience scaling finance functions in venture-backed or globally distributed teams.
