What you will do

• Design and maintain Databricks gold-layer data models to support Tableau reports and ad-hoc analytical use.
• Architect the Tableau data source (TDS) layer, defining join strategies, connection types, and performance optimization patterns.
• Own the report conversion process, enhancing the AI/LLM-assisted pipeline and defining manual quality gates.
• Collaborate with Data Engineers on ETL pipeline design and Unity Catalog governance.
• Develop validation frameworks, including source-to-target reconciliation queries, to ensure business logic fidelity.
• Analyze legacy OBIEE RPD metadata to map data lineage and inform migration sequencing.

Requirements

• BS degree in Computer Science, Data Analytics, Information Systems, or a related field.
• 10+ years of experience in data architecture and dimensional modeling.
• 5+ years of hands-on experience with BI tools (Tableau, Power BI, OBIEE, etc.).
• Proficiency with Databricks, Spark SQL, and medallion-layer architectures.
• Expert-level SQL skills.
• Must be based in or able to work in Vienna, VA, USA

Nice to have

• Experience with BI platform migrations (specifically OBIEE to Tableau).
• Professional experience using AI/LLM tools for code generation or metadata analysis.
• Familiarity with OBIEE RPD architecture (physical, logical, and presentation layers).
• Python proficiency for scripting and automation.
• Experience with Tableau APIs and working in federal government IT environments.
