Solutions Architect (Financial Services): Leading the growth of the Databricks Unified Analytics Platform for banking and payments clients with an accent on distributed data systems and cloud architecture. Focus on designing big data solutions, implementing POCs, and guiding customers through the adoption of Spark, Delta Lake, and MLflow.

Location: Must be based in one of the following cities: Chicago, Dallas, Denver, Los Angeles, Portland, San Francisco, or Seattle

Salary: $180,000 — $247,500 USD

What you will do

• Partner with the sales team to help customers solve business problems using the Databricks platform.
• Provide technical leadership to guide customers through the evaluation and adoption process.
• Consult on big data architecture and implement proof of concepts for strategic customer projects.
• Build and present reference architectures, how-to guides, and demo applications.
• Promote open-source projects including Spark, Delta Lake, and MLflow within developer communities.
• Travel to customers within your assigned region to provide on-site support.

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience in customer-facing pre-sales, technical architecture, or consulting roles.
• Proven experience designing and architecting distributed data systems.
• Proficiency in programming and debugging in at least one of: Python, Scala, Java, SQL, or R.
• Experience building solutions with public cloud providers such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Strong knowledge of Data Engineering (Spark, Hadoop, Kafka) and Data Warehousing (SQL, OLTP/OLAP/DSS).
• Must be located in or able to work from the specified US regions.

Nice to have

• Experience supporting Financial Services clients.
• Degree in a quantitative discipline such as Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, or Operations Research.
