What you will do

• Develop and maintain device software for the full episode lifecycle of data collection.
• Integrate and synchronize multi-modal sensor streams (cameras, pose trackers, encoders) into policy-consumable trajectories.
• Define data contracts and metadata schemas between UMI devices and the AI team.
• Build validation tooling to detect sensor faults and timing jitter before data enters training sets.
• Develop operator-facing software for session control and status indication.
• Debug hardware integration failures including driver issues, bus bandwidth, and thermal throttling.

Requirements

• Experience in embedded or device-level software within a robotics or sensing context.
• Proficiency in C++ and/or Python for real-time drivers and recording pipelines.
• Deep understanding of multi-modal sensor synchronization (timestamps, hardware triggers, clock drift).
• Knowledge of camera pipelines and data storage timing.
• Ability to debug real hardware using logs and profilers.

Nice to have

• Experience with 6-DOF pose tracking systems (VIO, optical).
• Familiarity with ML training data formats.
• Experience with operator-facing data collection tools.
• Proven track record of scaling prototype software to field-deployed units.
