What you will do

• Design, develop, and maintain backend software components using modern C++.
• Build and implement algorithms to combine and process data from multiple sensors.
• Develop and optimise real-time image and data processing pipelines.
• Create and integrate user interfaces using Qt and QML connected to C++ backends.
• Collaborate with systems, embedded, and UI/UX engineers across the full development lifecycle.
• Ensure high software quality through code reviews, testing, and performance tuning.

Requirements

• Strong commercial experience with C++ and Qt/QML.
• Background in real-time, embedded, or performance-critical systems.
• Experience within Defence or Maritime industries.
• Eligible to obtain at least BPSS clearance.
• Must have regular access to the site in Fareham, UK.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering or equivalent military experience.

Nice to have

• Experience working with sensor data such as cameras, radar, or LiDAR.
• Background in image processing, computer vision, or perception systems.
• Exposure to embedded Linux or low-level system integration.
• Understanding of performance optimisation and multi-threaded applications.
• Experience in regulated, safety-critical, or high-reliability environments.
