Product Engineer (AI Agents)

Product Engineer (AI Agents): Build and ship an AI-agent-powered product across agent orchestration, retrieval systems, backend APIs, and React interfaces with an accent on production reliability, scalable architecture, and customer-focused product development. Location: On-site at the hirify.global office in New York City, United States.

Salary: $200,000–$400,000 base salary, plus equity.

What you will do

• Design and build production agentic workflows, including orchestration, prompting, tool use, and evaluation.
• Engineer context, retrieval, and search systems using semantic search, keyword search, APIs, and SQL.
• Ship customer-facing features end-to-end, from backend data models and APIs to React interfaces.
• Partner with platform and research teams to bring AI capabilities into production.
• Own ambiguous projects, define milestones, coordinate cross-functional delivery, and work directly with customers to validate product fit.

Requirements

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience in full-stack, product, or AI engineering roles.
• Production experience with LLMs or agent-based systems, including orchestration, prompting, tool use, and retrieval.
• Strong experience with TypeScript, React, Postgres, and NestJS.
• Experience with AI production concerns such as evaluations, latency, error handling, and streaming.
• Experience owning end-to-end projects in a startup environment and building maintainable, scalable software.
• Excitement about working in person from the New York City office is required.

Nice to have

• Experience with AWS, Docker, Kubernetes, or Terraform.
• Background in developer tools, infrastructure, or observability.
• Experience building retrieval or search systems.
• Customer-facing product discovery experience.
• Prior technical leadership or project leadership experience.
