What you will do
- Lead or support the complete functional safety lifecycle from concept through validation and certification.
- Develop safety assurance arguments for robotic subsystems and complete products.
- Define safety concepts and develop safety-critical systems for sensors, controllers, actuators, hardware, and software.
- Perform FMEA, FMEDA, FTA, and other safety analyses.
- Create and maintain risk assessments, functional safety concepts, safety requirements specifications, verification and validation plans, and test reports.
- Collaborate across engineering disciplines and ensure compliance with regulations and international standards.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience developing safety-critical systems.
- Deep expertise in functional safety standards for embedded systems, such as IEC 61508, IEC 62061, ISO 13849, or ISO 26262.
- Experience with robotics safety standards, including ISO 10218, ISO 13482, or ISO 3691-4.
- Experience developing safety cases and supporting certification, particularly for autonomous systems.
- Hands-on experience designing, implementing, and validating safety systems for mobile robots or other dynamic systems.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, including technical documentation and communication with expert engineers and executive audiences.
Nice to have
- Familiarity with safety standards for sensors and actuators, such as IEC 61496, IEC 62998, or IEC 61800-5-2.
- Understanding of AI functional safety standards, such as ISO/IEC TR 5469 or ISO PAS 8800.
- Experience with AMRs, bipedal robots, exoskeletons, mobile manipulators, or collaborative robots.
