What you will do

• Optimize and scale PostgreSQL (Supabase) infrastructure for hundreds of millions of media records.
• Design indexing, partitioning, and query strategies to handle large-scale datasets.
• Improve performance across ingestion, enrichment, and retrieval pipelines.
• Build internal tools for querying, auditing, and creating sample packs of large datasets.
• Design and automate dataset exports and delivery pipelines using S3 and custom formats.
• Collaborate with backend, ML, and product teams to support and implement new features.

Requirements

• Strong PostgreSQL expertise in indexing, partitioning, and performance tuning.
• Experience working with large datasets (100M+ records preferred).
• Deep understanding of storage systems such as S3.
• Strong backend experience with TypeScript, Python, or similar languages.
• Ability to build internal tooling and automation scripts.
• Must be based in the United States.

Nice to have

• Experience with ETL and transformation layers.
• Knowledge of vector databases such as pgvector, FAISS, or Pinecone.
• Experience delivering structured datasets to enterprise customers.
• DevOps expertise in CI/CD and infrastructure automation.
• Experience with media-heavy systems.
