Software Engineer (Blockchain Wallets)

Location: Hybrid work in San Francisco, United States

Salary: $140,000–$200,000 base salary, depending on knowledge, skills, experience, and location; lumen-denominated grants are also provided.

The hirify.global is a nonprofit organization supporting the development of the open-source Stellar blockchain network and equitable access to the global financial system.

What you will do

• Design, build, and deploy features for Freighter and related wallet products.
• Drive wallet projects from product vision through implementation and delivery.
• Design user interfaces and end-to-end product experiences.
• Build and maintain scalable backend services for the Stellar ecosystem.
• Contribute to open-source projects, integrations, and community initiatives.
• Participate in code reviews, design discussions, and engineering best-practice development.

Requirements

• 2+ years of software development experience in a collaborative team.
• Strong computer science fundamentals, including data structures, algorithms, distributed systems, and information retrieval.
• Experience writing server applications with Go, Python, or Java.
• Experience writing client applications with TypeScript, Swift, or Dart.
• Knowledge of software design patterns and the ability to build reusable, extensible, and modular components.
• Strong communication and product-thinking skills, including participation in technical discussions, design reviews, and code reviews.

Nice to have

• Experience with blockchain technology, wallets, or financial applications.
• Experience contributing to open-source projects.
• Specific experience with Go and TypeScript.
