TL;DR
Department Lead (Operations): Leading daily warehouse operations across multiple departments and shifts with an accent on operational performance, people development, safety, quality, and capacity planning. Focus on developing five Team Leads, solving real-time operational challenges, driving continuous improvement, and supporting the Leipzig Site Manager across a department of approximately 100 employees.
Location: Onsite in Leipzig, Germany, in the Wahren area. Full-time presence across early and late shifts between 07:45 and 23:45 is required. A valid, long-term German work visa for full-time employment is required.
Salary: €52,000–€58,000 annual starting salary, individually determined according to seniority.

What you will do
- Own throughput, quality, SLA delivery, and KPI performance across assigned warehouse departments and shifts.
- Lead, coach, and develop five Team Leads supporting approximately 100 employees.
- Coordinate capacity planning, staffing, schedules, and operational resources with the planning team.
- Champion safety, 6S, quality standards, shift handovers, and cross-functional communication.
- Lead continuous improvement projects, root cause analysis, and measurable performance improvements.
- Coordinate facility partners, service providers, authorities, maintenance providers, and site-related projects while acting as operational proxy for the Site Manager when required.
Requirements
- Proven leadership experience in warehouse, logistics, or operations, preferably managing Team Leads or supervisors.
- Strong understanding of warehouse operations, capacity planning, and performance management in a high-volume environment.
- Demonstrated ability to coach people, build accountability, and make independent decisions during complex operational situations.
- German at minimum B2 level is required for local stakeholder and facility communication.
- Very good written and verbal English is required as English is the working language.
- Availability to work onsite in Leipzig across two shifts and possession of a valid long-term German work visa are required.
Nice to have
- Experience with continuous improvement methodologies such as Lean or 6S.
- Structured project management experience.
- Experience coordinating vendors, facilities, or external operational partners.
