Accounting Manager (US GAAP)

Location: Fully remote from LATAM or the Philippines, with a minimum four-hour overlap with U.S. business hours.

What you will do

• Own the full month-end close process and achieve a consistent 5–7 day close cycle.
• Prepare and review journal entries with complete supporting documentation.
• Oversee vendor onboarding, procurement workflows, payables, and payment-status inquiries.
• Identify non-scalable finance systems and processes and deliver a process-improvement roadmap within the first 90 days.
• Support the consolidation of multiple school information systems and finance data flows.
• Help prepare the finance function for its first external audit while communicating with leadership, vendors, and site-level stakeholders.

Requirements

• 5+ years of accounting experience at Accounting Manager level or above, including ownership of the complete month-end close process.
• Experience with U.S. GAAP and accounting for U.S. companies.
• Advanced Excel skills demonstrated through complex reconciliations, multi-entity consolidation, or financial modeling.
• Ability to project-manage a full close process across multiple workstreams.
• Full-time dedication with no concurrent clients or independent accounting practice.
• C1+ English and a minimum four-hour overlap with U.S. time zones required.

Nice to have

• Experience with NetSuite, Ramp, ADP Workforce Now, ProCare, Playground, or Brightwheel.
• External audit or audit-readiness experience.
• Experience in multi-location, multi-entity, or acquisition roll-up businesses.
• Experience scaling accounting functions during rapid revenue growth.
