Accounting Manager (U.S. GAAP)

Location: Remote in the Dominican Republic, Guatemala, El Salvador, or Honduras; working hours are 8:00 AM–6:00 PM CST.

Salary: $1,800–$4,000 USD per month, with flexibility for exceptional candidates.

hirify.global is hiring for a rapidly growing U.S.-based accounting and advisory firm serving small and mid-sized U.S. businesses.

What you will do

• Manage month-end close across multiple U.S.-based client accounts and prepare or review financial statements and supporting workpapers.
• Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger activity, reconciliations, payroll processing, and client accounting records.
• Apply U.S. GAAP and prepare U.S. state sales tax filings while tracking compliance requirements and deadlines.
• Build financial reports and dashboards, analyze trends, risks, variances, cash flow, and performance, and explain results to business owners.
• Document and improve accounting workflows, controls, procedures, accuracy, and operational consistency across client engagements.
• Collaborate directly with U.S. business owners and leadership, manage competing deadlines, and take ownership of issues through resolution.

Requirements

• 5–10 years of accounting and finance experience, including management of multiple U.S.-based clients simultaneously.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, month-end close, financial reporting, AP, AR, general ledger, payroll, and U.S. state sales tax.
• Hands-on experience with QuickBooks Online and QuickBooks Desktop or Enterprise.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including PivotTables, XLOOKUP, INDEX/MATCH, data tables, advanced formulas, and financial analysis.
• Exceptional spoken and written English and confidence communicating financial results to U.S. business owners.
• Strong organization, attention to detail, independent problem-solving, ownership, and the ability to manage multiple priorities.

Nice to have

• Experience supporting construction, HVAC, plumbing, roofing, landscaping, home services, or other blue-collar and field-service businesses.
• Experience with Gusto, ADP, Paylocity, Ramp, Bill.com, and financial reporting or dashboard tools.
• Long-term employment history, including three or more years with previous employers.
