Backend Engineer (Fintech)

TL;DR

Backend Engineer (Java): Building and optimizing scalable backend systems for a high-growth fintech platform with an accent on REST APIs, microservices, and financial infrastructure. Focus on developing card payment systems, treasury management, and crypto liquidity solutions.

Location: Hybrid (New York). Must be based in New York (3-4 days a week in-office)

What you will do

• Design and develop scalable, secure, and high-performing backend systems.
• Drive greenfield development and improve existing infrastructure.
• Build REST APIs and engineer microservices for card payments and treasury management.
• Develop transaction booking and crypto liquidity systems.
• Apply clean code principles using TDD, DDD, and continuous integration/delivery.

Requirements

• Demonstrable experience in backend development with fluency in Java.
• Bachelor's degree or above in Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, or other Engineering/Science disciplines.
• English fluency (verbal and written).
• Proven track record of building complex products for hypergrowth startups.
