Senior Platform Engineer (Data Infrastructure)

Location: Must be based in or be able to relocate to Madrid, Spain (Hybrid work model).

Salary: €65,000 – €88,000 (OTE) per year.

What you will do

• Design and improve data infrastructure alongside Architecture and Product teams using cloud-native best practices.
• Build self-service tooling and automation (Crossplane) to provision and scale infrastructure with a focus on resilience.
• Manage and integrate new data stores including search, vector, and in-memory databases.
• Plan for disaster recovery and cross-region replication with clear RPO/RTO targets.
• Monitor availability, performance, and observability using Datadog to proactively address incidents.
• Participate in the on-call rotation and conduct post-mortem analysis for incidents.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience as a Software, DevOps, Platform, or Site Reliability Engineer.
• Hands-on experience with AWS across multiple regions using Terraform or OpenTofu.
• Proficiency in Kubernetes (EKS) and containerization (Docker) on Linux.
• Strong coding skills in Go and/or Python.
• Fluent English communication skills.
• Must be based in or willing to relocate to Madrid, Spain.

Nice to have

• Experience with distributed streaming systems like Apache Kafka (AWS MSK).
• Knowledge of database cluster operations (Aurora, ClickHouse, MongoDB).
• Familiarity with search/vector databases (OpenSearch) and caching stores (Redis).
• Experience building internal developer platforms using Crossplane.
