Location: 100% remote for candidates based in Germany, Spain, Portugal, or the UK

What you will do

• Operate and evolve the Kubernetes landscape using Amazon EKS and on-prem clusters via Rancher.
• Automate deployment and scaling to ensure releases are seamless and non-events.
• Build comprehensive observability systems including metrics, dashboards, and alerting to proactively spot issues.
• Design technical abstractions that enable Backend and Data Engineers to ship code without manual tickets.
• Drive the transition from remaining self-hosted infrastructure to cloud-native solutions.

Requirements

• Extensive experience operating Kubernetes in production, including upgrades, capacity planning, and cluster debugging.
• Proficiency with Linux, GitOps, and deployment automation workflows.
• Solid understanding of relational and key-value databases as well as networking fundamentals.
• Ability to operate effectively in a small team with changing priorities and minimal specifications.
• Must be based in Germany, Spain, Portugal, or the UK.

Nice to have

• Programming proficiency in Go or Python beyond basic scripting.
• Experience running self-hosted databases in production, including replication and recovery.
• Deep knowledge of networking internals such as TLS and TCP/UDP.
• Experience operating on-prem Kubernetes using Rancher.
