Data Platform Engineer

TL;DR

Data Platform Engineer (Snowflake/AWS): Building and maintaining the core data infrastructure and orchestration layers with an accent on Snowflake platform management, AWS lakehouse architecture, and IaC practices. Focus on designing secure access models, optimizing Airflow pipelines, and ensuring platform reliability through Terraform and CI/CD.

Location: Must be based in or able to work from Barcelona (Hybrid: 3 days in-office)

Salary: €45,000–€60,000 gross/yearly

What you will do

• Evolve and manage the Snowflake platform, including warehouses, storage integrations, and RBAC models.
• Maintain infrastructure as code using Terraform and deploy via GitHub Actions.
• Operate the AWS lakehouse, managing S3 ingestion and Iceberg table integrations.
• Orchestrate and harden data pipelines using Apache Airflow.
• Implement security, governance, and cost-efficiency best practices across the data platform.
• Collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders to support data needs.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience in data platform, data engineering, or infrastructure roles.
• Hands-on experience with Snowflake platform administration.
• Solid experience with Terraform or equivalent IaC tools.
• Experience operating Apache Airflow in production.
• Working knowledge of AWS (S3, IAM) and Iceberg tables.
• Fluent in Spanish and English (B1 or higher).

Nice to have

• Experience with data observability tools like Synq or SELECT.dev.
• Proficiency in dbt, Airbyte, or Docker.
• Experience using AI coding assistants.
• Strong background in data governance and designing complex permission models.
