What you will do

• Manage physical "Metal" environments from bare metal installations to fully functional Kubernetes clusters.
• Design and manage cluster networking components, including load balancing, NAT, DNS, CNIs, and routing protocols.
• Handle scheduling and autoscaling to ensure high availability and efficiency of the platform.
• Maintain Crossplane compositions and Terraform modules for CSP resources, including versioning and compatibility.
• Collaborate with Grafana Cloud application teams to understand their needs and implement the right infrastructure capabilities.

Requirements

• Experience with distributed systems and a holistic approach to the full software development life cycle.
• Proven experience in datacenter management and operating production code.
• Proficiency in programming with Go, Python, and Shell.
• Must be based in the UK, Spain, or Ireland.
• Ability to participate in an on-call rotation.

Nice to have

• Experience with Cluster-API, Tinkerbell, Talos, or Ceph.
• Previous contributions to open-source or community-based projects.
• Experience with managed Kubernetes services like EKS, GKE, or AKS.
• Familiarity with Tanka, Jsonnet, and Kubernetes scheduling projects like Karpenter.
• Hands-on experience with Terraform and Crossplane.
