What you will do

• Lead the system-level integration of a 7-DOF robotic arm into a surgical imaging platform.
• Define robot kinematics, coordinate frames, calibration strategies, and motion constraints.
• Design interfaces between robot control, vision systems, and higher-level application software.
• Develop motion control strategies (position, velocity, admittance) and integrate real-time control software.
• Ensure medical-grade safety and compliance with IEC 60601 and ISO 14971 standards.
• Serve as the primary technical authority for robotics, mentoring other engineers and influencing build-vs-buy decisions.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Robotics, Control Systems, Computer Science, or Computer Engineering (M.S. or Ph.D. preferred).
• 14+ years of experience in robotics engineering with direct ownership of complex HRI systems.
• Hands-on experience integrating multi-DOF robotic arms (6+ DOF) in constrained environments.
• Proficiency in C++ and Python for robotics applications.
• Experience with ROS/ROS2 and real-time Linux.
• Proven track record of technical leadership in small-to-mid-sized teams.
