TL;DR
Embedded Software Engineer (C++/Python/Robotics): Developing and maintaining firmware, drivers, sensor integrations, and visual navigation payloads for embedded robotic systems with an accent on STM32, calibration, synchronization, and field reliability. Focus on debugging hardware-software interfaces, validating camera/IMU systems, supporting customer trials, and translating field feedback into product improvements.

What you will do

  • Develop and maintain firmware for embedded devices from prototypes through production deployment.
  • Validate visual navigation payloads, including architecture, integration, calibration, configuration, testing, and troubleshooting.
  • Implement low-level drivers and hardware interfaces, and integrate IMU, camera, and time-synchronization sensors.
  • Debug embedded systems in laboratory and field conditions, perform root-cause analysis, and deliver fixes.
  • Create integration documentation and support customer and partner trials, qualification testing, and technical troubleshooting.
  • Convert customer feedback into technical requirements and product roadmap improvements.

Requirements

  • Hands-on firmware development experience for embedded systems.
  • Proficiency in C++ and Python, with solid STM32 experience including writing or modifying drivers.
  • Experience with robotics and real-time embedded troubleshooting, including timestamp synchronization and sensor issues.
  • Experience with custom wire harnessing and Linux development and testing tools.
  • Strong attention to calibration procedures, reproducible testing, and clean release practices.
  • Must be a US person and work on site in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

Nice to have

  • Experience with computer vision or visual-inertial systems, including camera/IMU pipelines and calibration.
  • Drone piloting experience.
  • Familiarity with MAVLink, PX4, ArduPilot, INAV, or other autopilot software.
  • Familiarity with ROS or ROS 2.
