Senior DRE - Audio Systems (Automotive)

Location: Warren, Michigan, United States; hybrid work with onsite attendance required three days per week

What you will do

• Lead and support audio architecture strategy, design, development, validation, and release for vehicle programs.
• Develop scalable, cost-efficient audio architectures supporting improved performance and future feature implementation.
• Integrate speakers, audio DSP modules, amplifiers, PFAF modules and speakers, and microphones into vehicles.
• Develop hardware and software plans, balance system requirements, and release final designs for manufacturing or purchase.
• Direct suppliers, supplier engineers, and resident engineers through sourcing, development, integration, and release activities.
• Resolve complex audio architecture and feature-integration issues while coordinating with engineering teams, customers, and vendors.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience as a DRE or in direct engineering within infotainment.
• Experience with automotive electrical systems and functional subsystems.
• Experience mentoring or training newer engineers.
• Experience with electrical test equipment and the GMLAN serial data communication protocol.
• Knowledge of A2B, Ethernet, LAN, engineering software, and systems related to audio systems.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, or a related field.
• 8+ years of experience as a DRE or in direct engineering within infotainment.
• Experience in audio product development.
