TL;DR

Head of Legal: Running the in-house legal function as a generalist point of contact for the business with an accent on contract lifecycle management, corporate governance/board process, and lobbying/regulatory compliance. Focus on building scalable legal processes and partnering across Product, Sales, Customer Success, and Finance while managing outside counsel escalation.

Location: Remote (travel to hirify.global hubs in Phoenix, San Francisco, Denver, Los Angeles, Austin, or Chicago may be required)

What you will do

• Serve as the primary legal point of contact for internal teams, triaging legal questions and escalating to outside counsel when needed.
• Own day-to-day contract lifecycle management, including drafting, redlining, and negotiating commercial, partner, and vendor agreements.
• Review incoming and outgoing agreements, flag risks, and ensure alignment with company positions and policies.
• Run the board process end-to-end (meeting preparation, resolutions, consents, minutes) and act as Corporate Secretary.
• Oversee lobbying registrations, disclosures, and compliance obligations across relevant states and jurisdictions.
• Build scalable legal processes, templates, and playbooks that respond to business needs.

Requirements

• 5–15 years of total legal experience (in-house and/or law firm) with increasing ownership over commercial and corporate matters.
• Strong contract drafting, review, and negotiation skills across commercial, partnership, and vendor agreements.
• Ability to handle a wide range of internal legal questions and know when to involve outside counsel.
• High ownership and resourcefulness; comfortable partnering with a broader business team.
• J.D. and an active bar license in good standing.
• Remote role with potential travel to hirify.global hubs in Phoenix, San Francisco, Denver, Los Angeles, Austin, or Chicago.
