Corporate Counsel (E-commerce)

What you will do

• Maintain and advance legal frameworks, policies, and compliance programs aligned with corporate strategy.
• Advise management and cross-functional teams on corporate governance, risk management, finance, banking, branding, vendor contracts, real estate, intellectual property, information technology, employment, privacy, licensing, and dealer regulations.
• Negotiate, draft, review, analyze, and manage commercial contracts, licenses, joint ventures, confidentiality agreements, employment documents, policies, procedures, internal protocols, and litigation-related documents.
• Manage intellectual property protection, independent contractor agreements and procedures, corporate entities, operating agreements, resolutions, and licensing matters.
• Research regulatory developments and manage risks related to consumer protection, privacy, cybersecurity, employment, trade regulations, sanctions, and new product areas.
• Handle customer complaints, litigation, arbitration, outside counsel, due diligence, strategic investments, employment matters, employee benefits, leasing, real estate, and other legal work.

Requirements

• D. from an accredited law school and current admission to a state bar, with willingness to become licensed in another state if needed.
• Five years or more of experience as a licensed attorney, preferably including at least two years in-house.
• Extensive experience with international offices, clients, employees, and entities, preferably supporting a global entity.
• Pragmatic judgment, personal credibility, and the ability to articulate legal positions or strategies quickly and concisely while building consensus in a multinational organization.
• Strong interpersonal, analytical, written, verbal, prioritization, and relationship-building skills.
• Ability to analyze complex issues, reach quick resolutions, recognize and weigh business and legal risks, lead strategically, and develop innovative solutions.
• Hands-on, roll-up-your-sleeves approach, including willingness to perform administrative, paralegal, and secretarial work.
• Ability to handle and protect confidential and sensitive information, work independently, remain self-motivated, and manage multiple tasks under tight deadlines.
• Comfort working in a multicultural environment and willingness to travel domestically and internationally as needed.
