What you will do

• Directly manage the OP org, including EM1s across NYC and Paris, and set overall technical direction.
• Build out management and technical leadership layers for an organization of approximately 20 ICs.
• Partner with Product to co-own the roadmap and strategy, determining engineering investment priorities.
• Set and evolve the operating rhythm, including planning cadence, on-call standards, and incident management.
• Manage cross-org relationships with SaaS Logs Pipelines, BYOC teams, and the Vector open-source community.
• Coach managers and senior engineers to build succession and growth plans.

Requirements

• Experience managing managers across distributed teams with a focus on operational excellence.
• Strong background in distributed systems and high-throughput data infrastructure.
• Experience with on-premises or customer-installed software and its operational tradeoffs.
• Proven ability to act as a strategic partner to Product for roadmap definition.
• Commercial awareness to connect engineering decisions to business outcomes.
• Must be eligible for required authorizations from the US government to conform to export control regulations.

• Experience with high-performance or Rust-based data pipeline systems.
