Partner, Crime and Regulatory (Legal Services): Leading and growing a Manchester Crime & Regulatory practice across inquests, public inquiries, professional discipline, health and safety, licensing, environmental regulation, entity regulation, and business crime with an accent on strategic leadership, client relationships, and practice development. Focus on shaping team direction, expanding the practice, managing complex matters, mentoring lawyers, and ensuring governance, compliance, profitability, and quality.
Location: Manchester, United Kingdom; hybrid working

What you will do
- Lead and develop the Manchester Crime & Regulatory team alongside the Head of Department.
- Manage a varied caseload covering inquests, public inquiries, professional discipline, misconduct investigations, health and safety, licensing, environmental regulation, entity regulation, criminal regulatory defence, and business crime.
- Shape practice strategy, performance, culture, profitability, brand-building, and national growth.
- Build relationships with partners, insurers, brokers, and corporate stakeholders.
- Lead business development, client management, governance, compliance, supplier relationships, and quality assurance.
- Mentor and develop junior team members.
Requirements
- Senior Crime or Regulatory lawyer with strong technical depth in at least two relevant practice areas.
- Experience managing insurer and legal expense insurance relationships or working in a referral-based practice.
- Proven client management, business development, and team leadership experience.
- Commercial judgement with the ability to balance quality, profitability, and strategic growth.
- Excellent communication skills, composure under pressure, and commitment to client care.
- Current Partners and Legal Directors or Senior Associates ready to progress to Partner level are encouraged to apply.
