What you will do

• Apply senior underwriting authority across Professional Indemnity and SME risks.
• Drive improvements in quote, conversion, and retention performance to support profitable growth.
• Monitor portfolio performance and analyze loss ratios and profitability to identify emerging risks.
• Influence the development of direct insurance products, underwriting rules, and digital journeys.
• Contribute to strategic AI, technology, and digital transformation projects.
• Act as a subject matter expert for PI and D&O products to ensure governance and underwriting standards.

Requirements

• Significant commercial underwriting experience with strong expertise in Professional Indemnity (PI) and Directors' & Officers' (D&O) risks.
• Proven experience operating with underwriting authority and making technical referral decisions.
• Experience in portfolio management and performance monitoring.
• Excellent customer management and communication skills.
• Must be based in the UK to support the hybrid working model in Manchester.

Nice to have

• Experience with direct insurance or SME commercial insurance.
• Background in an MGA, insurer, or commercial brokerage.
• Exposure to product development, pricing, or rating.
