What you will do
- Lead hands-on power measurement and debug using oscilloscopes, power analyzers, and electronic loads.
- Analyze product schematics to understand power architecture, sequencing, and delivery behavior.
- Build and execute structured test matrices covering operating modes, workloads, and power states.
- Investigate software and firmware contributors to power issues across MCU, Linux kernel, and Android layers.
- Validate measured data against system power models and budgets.
- Collaborate with EE, HW, FW, and system teams to align hardware power intent with software behavior.
Requirements
- Bachelorβs or masterβs degree in Electrical Engineering, Embedded Systems, or Computer Engineering.
- 7+ years of experience in embedded systems, blending EE lab work and embedded firmware/system software.
- Strong proficiency in reading schematics and performing power-rail analysis.
- Experience with embedded firmware development (MCU, SoC firmware, bootloader, or low-level drivers).
- Working knowledge of Linux and/or Android system software to investigate power/performance issues.
- Must be based in Redmond, WA for lab-based investigations.
Nice to have
- Experience working with Qualcomm platforms or similar complex SoCs.
- Familiarity with system-level power measurement frameworks.
- Experience with factory, EVT/DVT, or lab-based power characterization.
- Exposure to embedded RTOS or bare-metal development.
