What you will do

  • Lead hands-on power measurement and debug using oscilloscopes, power analyzers, and electronic loads.
  • Analyze product schematics to understand power architecture, sequencing, and delivery behavior.
  • Build and execute structured test matrices covering operating modes, workloads, and power states.
  • Investigate software and firmware contributors to power issues across MCU, Linux kernel, and Android layers.
  • Validate measured data against system power models and budgets.
  • Collaborate with EE, HW, FW, and system teams to align hardware power intent with software behavior.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Embedded Systems, or Computer Engineering.
  • 7+ years of experience in embedded systems, blending EE lab work and embedded firmware/system software.
  • Strong proficiency in reading schematics and performing power-rail analysis.
  • Experience with embedded firmware development (MCU, SoC firmware, bootloader, or low-level drivers).
  • Working knowledge of Linux and/or Android system software to investigate power/performance issues.
  • Must be based in Redmond, WA for lab-based investigations.

Nice to have

  • Experience working with Qualcomm platforms or similar complex SoCs.
  • Familiarity with system-level power measurement frameworks.
  • Experience with factory, EVT/DVT, or lab-based power characterization.
  • Exposure to embedded RTOS or bare-metal development.
