Senior Electrical Engineer - Missile Systems (Electrical Engineering/Power Systems): Developing missile system electrical projects by deriving and documenting electrical system requirements, performing trade studies, and designing electrical components and subsystems with an accent on high-power power distribution, EMI/EMC design, and simulation/modeling for integration and test. Focus on building robust electrical architectures and supporting integration, test, and technical leadership for junior engineers.

What you will do

  • Derive and document AC/DC electrical system requirements with multiple technical disciplines.
  • Run trade studies and develop optimal electrical system architectures.
  • Simulate, model, design, select, and characterize electrical components.
  • Design, implement, test, and integrate electrical components and subsystems.
  • Participate in cross-functional technical design reviews and support integration and test activities.
  • Support project planning and provide technical leadership for junior engineers.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, RF engineering, or a related field.
  • 8+ years of experience, including 5+ years in power system design and design for EMI.
  • Proficiency with simulation tools such as Keysight ADS, HFSS, CST, or similar.
  • Proficiency with schematic capture and PCBA layout tools (e.g., Ansys HFSS, Genesys, CST, MATLAB, Python).
  • Demonstrated expertise in electrical high-power systems (100 kW+), including C/DC, DC/DC converters, and inverter/rectifier systems.
  • U.S. citizenship required (eligibility for access to classified information; subject to government security investigation).

Nice to have

  • Experience with military standards (MIL-STD-461, MIL-STD-1399, MIL-STD-704, MIL-STD-1275, MIL-STD-464).
  • Experience translating test requirements into test procedures and operating test equipment.
  • Experience with root cause and corrective action investigations with internal teams and suppliers.
  • Experience analyzing system requirements for military power architecture and proposal support.
  • Familiarity with military or aerospace RF standards.
