What you will do

• Develop and maintain environmental stewardship program strategies to deliver sustainable solutions.
• Manage environmental compliance and conformance programs across multiple media and platforms.
• Oversee a team of contract waste management and chemical management professionals.
• Collaborate with site management, regulatory agencies, legal staff, and internal/external community leaders.
• Engage with domain experts to ensure continual improvement and support new project implementation.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related sciences field.
• 5+ years of experience in Environmental Engineering.
• Working knowledge of Air Permitting and/or Large Quantity Hazardous Waste Generator Requirements.
• Demonstrated expertise in at least one main environmental program (air, water, or waste).
• Must have existing US work authorization; GM does not provide immigration sponsorship.

Nice to have

• Experience leading or overseeing small teams and contracted environmental service providers.
• Understanding of manufacturing operations with experience across air, water, and waste programs.
• Experience with chemical reviews, approvals, and UST/AST systems and regulations.
• Passion for promoting and maintaining wildlife habitat projects and certifications.
