Quality Manager (Manufacturing)

What you will do

• Build and own the Quality Management System (QMS), including document control, non-conformance, and audits.
• Lead and develop a team of quality engineers and inspectors, setting standards and scaling the organization.
• Define and improve key quality metrics such as first-pass yield, defect escapes, and supplier performance.
• Drive root-cause investigations and corrective actions (CAPA) across manufacturing, supply chain, and field issues.
• Establish inspection and acceptance strategies for incoming materials, production processes, and completed vessels.
• Embed quality upstream through PFMEAs, control plans, and design reviews.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field.
• 6+ years of experience in quality within a hardware manufacturing environment, including 2+ years of people management.
• Demonstrated experience building or substantially rebuilding a Quality Management System.
• Proficiency in core quality methodologies: root cause analysis, CAPA, PFMEA, control plans, SPC, or MSA.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, including GD&T.
• Must be based in or able to work on-site in Torrance, CA.

Nice to have

• Experience with ISO 9001, AS9100, or IATF 16949 certifications.
• Background in composites (carbon fiber, fiberglass) or high-voltage electrical systems.
• Experience in marine, automotive, or aerospace industries.
• ASQ certification (CQE, CQM/OE, or CQA).
