Principal Data Engineer (AI)

Salary: $138,000 - $200,100

What you will do

• Lead the design and implementation of scalable data pipelines, models, and integrations for enterprise analytics.
• Guide the modernization of legacy ETL and reporting platforms into cloud-native, automated architectures.
• Define and execute the technical roadmap for data engineering, platform modernization, and data quality.
• Partner with architects and product owners to translate business requirements into resilient data solutions.
• Mentor engineering teams in cloud data engineering and modern analytics engineering practices.
• Support AI/ML enablement by ensuring reliable, governed, and feature-ready datasets.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, or equivalent experience.
• 12 or more years of experience in software or data engineering.
• Strong proficiency in Python, SQL, and distributed data processing (ETL/ELT).
• Proven experience with cloud-based data platforms, deployment, and operational support.
• Deep understanding of data modeling, warehousing, metadata management, and CI/CD.
• Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship (including CPT/OPT).

Nice to have

• Experience with Spark or similar large-scale processing frameworks.
• Experience with AWS, Redshift, or Snowflake.
• Familiarity with dbt or equivalent analytics engineering frameworks.
• Experience with SAP BusinessObjects Data Services or SAP Web Intelligence.
• Relevant certifications in Cloud, Data Architecture, or AI/ML.
