What you will do

• Design and build the Snowflake transformation layer (raw → staging → conformed → marts) as the foundation for reporting and AI/ML.
• Migrate legacy SQL views to versioned, tested dbt models with full lineage.
• Define conformed dimensions and operational facts using Kimball dimensional modeling principles.
• Set team-wide standards for modeling, naming, documentation, and CI/CD workflows.
• Implement data quality testing and observability in partnership with IT Audit for SOX-relevant controls.
• Partner with AI teams to design feature tables and semantic metadata for agentic applications.

Requirements

• 7+ years in data engineering or analytics engineering.
• 4+ years building production workloads on a cloud data warehouse (Snowflake strongly preferred).
• 3+ years of production experience with dbt, including macros, snapshots, and incremental strategies.
• Expert SQL skills, including window functions and performance tuning at scale.
• Hands-on experience with Kimball dimensional modeling (star schemas, SCD Type 1 and 2).
• Proficiency in Python for data tooling and automation scripts.
• Must be based in the US.

Nice to have

• Experience with SAP ECC or S/4HANA finance and logistics tables.
• Hands-on experience with Power BI semantic models and DAX.
• Prior experience in manufacturing, medical devices, or other regulated industries.
• Familiarity with SOX ITGC and IT-audit controls.
• Exposure to MDM tooling such as Reltio or Informatica MDM.
