Staff Software Developer (Developer Infrastructure)

Location: Toronto, Canada; in-person attendance expected at least 3 days per week

Salary: CAD 200,000–235,000 base pay per year, plus bonus opportunities, equity, and benefits

What you will do

• Define the long-term technical strategy and roadmap for build systems, CI, source control management, and development environments.
• Build and operate scalable infrastructure focused on speed, safety, reliability, and increasing operational loads.
• Lead developer onboarding and development-environment improvements to reduce time-to-first-commit.
• Standardize build and CI patterns across engineering teams and reduce developer friction.
• Provide technical mentorship, conduct design reviews, and establish operational best practices.

Requirements

• Extensive experience designing, scaling, and operating developer infrastructure or high-volume build and CI systems in production.
• Deep expertise in modern build systems such as Bazel, distributed or remote build execution, and CI/CD at scale.
• Strong programming proficiency in Go or Python and experience building reliable system software.
• Ability to lead complex technical initiatives from conception to completion and align execution with company objectives.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills for tooling adoption, onboarding improvements, and engineering mentorship.
