DevOps Consultant, Application Development (Azure/CI/CD)

Location: Toronto, ON — hybrid, with 1–3 days per week onsite at Toronto-81 Bay

What you will do

• Design, develop, and maintain automated build, deployment, and continuous integration systems.
• Build code and artifacts using Golang, Java, NodeJS, and C++, then deploy applications to Azure DevOps, Red Hat OpenShift, and Linux environments.
• Configure and support middleware platforms, including JBoss EAP, and provide on-call support for application failures.
• Define deployment strategies for UAT, PTE, and production environments in collaboration with project management, QA, and operations teams.
• Drive deployment automation from code check-in through production and improve monitoring and infrastructure automation.
• Document build, deployment, and application configuration processes while promoting Agile and DevOps practices.

Requirements

• More than 6 years of IT industry experience, preferably involving Go, Java, Python, or NodeJS development and middleware administration in highly available environments.
• Strong understanding of JVM configuration and tuning parameters.
• Experience with DevOps concepts, CI/CD tools, Git, GitHub, GitHub Actions, Jenkins pipelines, Snyk, Aqua, Jira, and Confluence.
• Experience with Linux and shell scripting using ksh or bash, as well as Golang, Ant, Maven, and Gradle build tools.
• Knowledge of networks, load balancers, firewalls, Autosys/FH, and application version control systems.
• Must be legally eligible to work in Canada and hold a valid work or study permit where applicable.
