TL;DR
Research Scientist, Sensing (AI): Developing and prototyping AI models for advanced sensing modalities (thermal, radar, acoustic, etc.) to enhance vehicle inspection systems with an accent on multi-modal fusion and experimental design. Focus on surfacing defects invisible to current RGB systems and integrating new hardware into the product stack.
Location: Must be based in Tel-Aviv

What you will do
- Survey emerging sensing technologies to identify modalities that expand defect coverage.
- Prototype new hardware, build small-scale datasets from scratch, and train modality-specific models.
- Run controlled experiments to benchmark new modalities against the existing inspection stack.
- Develop multi-modal fusion approaches combining new and existing sensors for improved detection.
- Partner with R&D and product teams to graduate successful modalities into the final product.
Requirements
- 4+ years of experience in sensor-based ML, computer vision, or signal processing.
- Hands-on experience with at least one non-RGB modality (thermal, depth, radar, lidar, hyperspectral, acoustic, or event-based).
- Strong proficiency in Python and deep learning frameworks such as PyTorch or TensorFlow.
- Experience designing experimental protocols and creating datasets from scratch.
- Comfort working with physical hardware, vendors, and experimental setups.
- Location: Onsite in Tel-Aviv
Nice to have
- Publications or patents in sensing, perception, or related fields.
- M.Sc. or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, or a related field.
