Vice President, Operational Excellence & Business Analytics (AI)

Location: Hybrid in Houston, Texas, USA, with work in an office or laboratory setting and up to 50% travel for on-site kaizen and operational improvement workshops.

What you will do

• Develop and implement a company-wide operational excellence strategy across laboratory diagnostics value streams and supply chain.
• Lead Lean continuous improvement, kaizen, waste elimination, defect reduction, and the development of a zero-defect culture.
• Build business intelligence dashboards, operational metrics, KPIs, and reporting tools covering safety, quality, service, cost, and cash performance.
• Use operational insights to prioritize initiatives that improve efficiency, customer satisfaction, quality, service, revenue, and profitability.
• Lead change management, cross-functional alignment, communications, and execution of transformational objectives and key results.
• Manage and develop high-performing teams while maintaining ethical, safe, compliant, and secure operations.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, or a related field.
• 15 years of progressive experience in operations and/or operational excellence, including 5+ years in senior leadership roles at Executive Director, VP, or higher level.
• Strong understanding of clinical diagnostic laboratory testing, laboratory KPIs, client and patient-facing processes, logistics, clinical operations, and revenue cycle management.
• Expertise in Lean Continuous Improvement, Kaizen, and/or Six Sigma, with strong analytical, capacity planning, and capacity analytics skills.
• Executive leadership experience, including strategy execution, high-level decision-making, team leadership, stakeholder engagement, and change management.
• Ability to work in an office or laboratory setting and travel up to 50%.

Nice to have

• MBA or another advanced degree.
• Experience in high-growth or complex healthcare organizations.
• Experience in clinical laboratory diagnostics and/or the MedTech industry.
