Manager, HRIS (Workday)

Location: Remote in the United States or from Figma's US hubs in San Francisco, California, or New York, New York. In-person onboarding is required if hired.

Annual base salary: $169,000–$296,000 USD.

What you will do

• Lead, coach, and develop HRIS Specialists through cross-training, documentation, and shared ownership across Workday functional areas.
• Evolve operating practices for project intake, prioritization, sprint planning, capacity planning, and release management.
• Coordinate delivery across internal HRIS staff and external implementation partners, balancing quality, speed, and cost.
• Provide governance and technical oversight for Workday configuration and perform hands-on configuration for complex, high-impact, or business-critical initiatives.
• Partner with People, Payroll, IT, Finance, and other cross-functional teams to deliver integrated solutions and improve operational efficiency.
• Evaluate emerging technologies and AI-enabled capabilities and recommend improvements to the people technology ecosystem and employee experience.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience in HRIS or People Technology.
• Deep Workday configuration expertise across HCM, Advanced Compensation, Benefits, Payroll, Absence, and Integrations.
• Proven success leading and developing high-performing HRIS or People Technology teams.
• Experience owning Workday delivery, including configuration governance, project intake, prioritization, sprint planning, and release management within a SOX-compliant environment.
• Strong experience managing work across internal teams and external implementation partners to deliver scalable, high-quality solutions.
• Deep understanding of the broader People Technology ecosystem and Workday integrations with enterprise systems.
• Curiosity about emerging technologies and AI.
