Benefits Manager (AI)

Location: Hybrid role aligned to Applied hub locations, with Chicago, Illinois, United States listed as the job location; applications from outside hub locations are also welcomed.

Salary: $120,000–$130,000 USD annual base salary

What you will do

• Implement and manage benefits and wellness programs, including open enrollment, vendor implementations, and M&A benefits integrations.
• Create inclusive, AI-assisted benefits communications and resources to improve employee awareness, engagement, and utilization.
• Govern the HRIS benefits module, enrollment platform, carrier feeds, and benefits automation roadmap.
• Build analytics dashboards and provide utilization and benchmarking insights for plan design, vendor selection, and budgeting.
• Manage relationships with benefits vendors, consultants, and administrators while monitoring regulatory changes.
• Maintain compliance documentation and support ERISA activities, including Form 5500 preparation, plan document reviews, and discrimination testing.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Communications, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• 5–8 years of progressive experience in benefits administration, benefits program management, or HRIS and benefits technology.
• Project management experience leading cross-functional benefits initiatives from planning through implementation.
• Hands-on experience administering and testing a benefits module in a major HRIS platform; UKG experience is strongly preferred.
• Working knowledge of ERISA, COBRA, HIPAA, FMLA, ACA, and other federal and state benefits regulations.
• Experience managing benefits communications and employee engagement initiatives.

Nice to have

• CEBS or CBP certification.
• Experience with M&A benefits integrations or comparable system and program transitions.
• Familiarity with AI writing tools, RPA, and workflow automation concepts.
