Mid-Level Software Engineer (Java/Rust)

Location: Must be based in the United States

Salary: $105,000 – $177,100

What you will do

• Develop and maintain mission-focused software applications, backend services, and APIs.
• Build and refine data processing workflows and analytical capabilities.
• Collaborate with data scientists and stakeholders to transform complex data into actionable insights.
• Maintain and enhance existing custom applications while troubleshooting defects.
• Contribute to code reviews and technical documentation in an agile, remote-first environment.

Requirements

• Must be a U.S. Citizen
• Active U.S. Government Top Secret security clearance and/or CBP/DHS suitability required
• 4+ years of professional experience in software programming and development
• Professional experience with strongly-typed languages such as Java or Rust
• Professional experience with scripting languages like Python, JavaScript, or TypeScript
• Working knowledge of agile practices and tools like Jira, Confluence, and Git

Nice to have

• Experience with low-latency or streaming technologies like Apache Flink or Kafka
• Full-stack development experience with React, Next, or MapLibre
• Experience with cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes)
• Knowledge of CI/CD workflows and SQL database schema design
