Senior Backend Engineer (AI Intercom)

Annual OTE: $175,000–$300,000 USD

What you will do

• Build and scale cloud-managed intercom systems with low-latency video, audio, and access-control interactions.
• Architect scalable backend systems for intercoms deployed around the world.
• Design simple, robust backend APIs for complex cross-functional systems.
• Drive technical direction and lead engineers through project execution.
• Own backend systems and significant product development from design through delivery.
• Collaborate with firmware, mobile, and frontend engineers on the intercom product line.

Requirements

• 7+ years of industry experience in backend software engineering.
• 4+ years of backend engineering experience at a rapidly growing startup or innovative company.
• Experience driving technical direction and leading engineers on project execution.
• Deep expertise with relational databases and demonstrated expertise in Python or Go.
• Experience designing scalable, latency-sensitive systems and owning backend products end-to-end.
• Bachelor’s or graduate degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related science.

• Postgres experience.
• Kubernetes experience.
