What you will do

• Develop and sustain mission-focused software applications, backend services, and APIs.
• Build and enhance data processing workflows and analytical capabilities.
• Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and stakeholders to transform complex data into actionable insights.
• Maintain custom applications, troubleshoot defects, and improve system performance.
• Contribute to code reviews and technical documentation in an agile environment.
• Lead technical discussions and mentor staff to drive engineering efforts.

Requirements

• Must be a U.S. Citizen.
• Active U.S. Government Top Secret security clearance and/or CBP/DHS suitability.
• 6+ years of professional software development experience.
• Professional experience with strongly-typed languages (Java, Rust).
• Professional experience with scripting languages (Python, JavaScript, TypeScript).
• Working knowledge of agile practices and tools (Jira, Confluence, Git).

Nice to have

• Experience with low-latency streaming technologies like Apache Flink or Kafka.
• Full-stack experience with React, Next, or MapLibre.
• Experience with cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP) and containerization (Kubernetes, Docker).
• Experience with CI/CD workflows (Jenkins, ArgoCD, GitLab CI).
• Experience with SQL database design and optimization (PostgreSQL).
