Mainframe Modernization Lead (Cloud)

Location: Hybrid; Must be based in one of the specified locations: Atlanta, GA / Chicago, IL / Bridgewater, NJ / New York, NY / Irving, TX / San Francisco, CA.

Salary: $98,497 - $233,248

What you will do

• Evaluate mainframe application landscapes and analyze technical debt to develop modernization strategies.
• Define target architectures, migration approaches, and technology roadmaps for mainframe and iSeries stacks.
• Design cloud-native architectures for legacy applications, prioritizing scalability, performance, and security.
• Select and apply modernization techniques (re-platforming, refactoring, replacing) based on business needs.
• Lead cross-functional teams through development, testing, and deployment of modernization projects.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to align technical solutions with business requirements and operational models.

Requirements

• 15+ years of overall experience, with 10+ years leading cloud-related IT projects.
• 5+ years of experience building solutions on Azure, AWS, or GCP to modernize mainframe infrastructure.
• Proven track record of delivering large-scale legacy modernization deals for mainframe or iSeries platforms.
• Proficiency in modern programming languages, frameworks, and cloud-native design patterns.
• Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
• Bachelor's degree in Business, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
