TL;DR
Creative Technologist (AI) (AI prototyping and web development): Building polished, demonstrable technology prototypes that address genuine client challenges with an accent on AI coding tools, agents, LLMs, MCP services, and rapid web development. Focus on independently shaping open-ended problems, integrating AI into working solutions, and presenting compelling prototypes to non-technical client audiences.
Location: Birmingham, England, United Kingdom; remote workplace with Smart Working and up to 40% from home

What you will do
- Identify genuine client challenges and opportunities where technology can create value.
- Work with a creative software designer and Creative Director to shape problems, wireframes, and user journeys.
- Rapidly build polished prototypes, typically within focused one-week cycles, using AI coding tools.
- Integrate AI agents, LLMs, hosted models, and MCP services into demonstrable solutions.
- Present prototypes to clients and non-technical audiences, clearly explaining their value.
- Research emerging AI tools and techniques, manage delivery autonomously, and document solutions for future development.
Requirements
- At least 1 year of experience building software or prototypes with AI tools such as Claude Code or Cursor.
- At least 5 years of experience building web applications and websites with JavaScript, TypeScript, React, and ES6+.
- At least 2 years of backend experience with Node, Java, or Python.
- At least 1 year of experience configuring AWS hosting services, including S3, CloudFront, ECS, or Lambda.
- Working knowledge of DynamoDB and vector databases such as Elasticsearch or OpenSearch.
- Strong communication, client presentation, independent delivery, and collaboration skills with creative teams.
Nice to have
- Experience using Terraform to manage AWS deployments.
- Experience with Figma and other design or wireframing tools.
