Workers Comp Senior Trial Attorney (Insurance)

Location: Must be based in or near Farmington, CT (Hybrid: 2 days in office, 3 days remote).

Salary: $133,000–$189,000/year.

What you will do

• Represent the insured independently before the court, presenting witnesses and evidence.
• Analyze complex legal issues and develop effective defense strategies.
• Prepare pleadings, motions, briefs, and written discovery.
• Handle all activities related to full trials and appeals.
• Provide legal advice and timely communication to clients and claims professionals.
• Assist in developing training materials and seminars for the Claim Department.

Requirements

• Juris Doctor degree from an ABA accredited law school required.
• Member in good standing of the Connecticut Bar required.
• 7+ years of Connecticut Workers Compensation experience required.
• Must have a valid state-issued driver’s license.
• Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and legal case management software.

Nice to have

• 15+ years of litigation experience.
• Trial experience.
• Multi-state Bar admittance.
• Detailed knowledge of the insurance industry.
