What you will do
- Operate and evolve authoritative and recursive DNS, DHCP, and NTP services to ensure reliability at internet scale.
- Automate infrastructure via Puppet (GitOps) to eliminate manual toil and implement infrastructure as code.
- Build metrics, dashboards, and signals to improve service visibility and measurement.
- Drive root-cause analysis and lasting fixes through structured ITIL Incident, Problem, Risk, and Change management.
- Participate in the team's on-call rotation for KRITIS/NIS2 infrastructure.
Requirements
- Experience operating DNS, DHCP, or comparable network services in production at scale.
- Proficiency with Enterprise Linux 9, Puppet, BIRD, and rsyslog.
- Strong command of Python, Go, Java, or Bash, and the classic Unix toolbelt.
- Experience with ClickHouse, MariaDB, or PostgreSQL.
- Must be based in Germany or available for a hybrid work model in Karlsruhe.
Nice to have
- Experience with Kea DHCP.
- Ability to debug with packet captures and interest in reading RFCs.
- A data-driven approach to decision-making and a preference for simplicity in technical solutions.
