Location: Must be based in or able to commute to Utrecht, Netherlands (Hybrid setup with at least 1 fixed on-site day per week).

Salary: €5,030 – €7,183 gross per month.

What you will do

• Design and implement scalable backend architectures for AI-driven conversational workflows.
• Integrate AI agents with internal banking services using secure APIs and event-driven patterns.
• Ensure high performance, security, and observability of backend systems.
• Collaborate with analysts, designers, and data specialists to deliver end-to-end AI capabilities.
• Manage conversation state and context propagation across complex enterprise environments.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in backend software engineering in production-grade environments.
• Proven experience integrating AI or LLM-based components into backend systems.
• Strong proficiency in Python and Java for enterprise-scale applications.
• Solid knowledge of distributed systems, REST APIs, and event-driven architectures.
• Experience with AI-agent architectures, tool invocation, and conversation state management.
• Must be able to work on-site in Utrecht at least one day per week.
