AI Engineer

Location: Amsterdam, Netherlands; at least 3 days a week in the office. Work eligibility in the Netherlands is required. Visa sponsorship is not available.

What you will do

• Design, build, and deploy AI agents for workflows in insurance, banking, and other financial services domains.
• Experiment with LLMs, retrieval-augmented generation, tool use, and multi-agent orchestration.
• Build pipelines that provide explainability, traceability, and auditability for AI decisions.
• Own client delivery, including scoping integrations, joining client calls, running demos, and deploying solutions.
• Work across backend, frontend, infrastructure, integrations, and deployment to deliver complete client products.
• Optimize models and systems for latency, accuracy, scalability, security, and production reliability.

Requirements

• 4–6 years of hands-on experience building AI or ML systems in startups, scale-ups, or research labs.
• Strong Python skills and experience with modern LLM and agent technologies, including model APIs, orchestration frameworks, vector databases, and evaluations.
• Experience building and improving LLM-based and agentic architectures.
• Experience shipping production systems end-to-end across pipelines, integrations, and deployment.
• Ability to scope ambiguous client needs, manage delivery, and communicate directly with clients.
• Must be based in Amsterdam, attend the office at least 3 days per week, and have work eligibility in the Netherlands.

Nice to have

• Experience with compliance, fintech, or other regulated domains where explainability is critical.
• Exposure to new AI architectures, open-source tools, and relevant research.
